Its author: Harout. Its recipient: Rosalin. Its contents, nothing short of legendary:“heyy, is this Rosalin? This is Harout, was given your number by a mutual friend lol” A modern-day love sonnet if we’ve ever seen one. Rosalin, naturally, responded the next day at 2:55 p.m.Because time is a social construct, and her phone is often on silent.“Hey, yes it is. Sorry for the late reply. How are you?” Harout, relieved he hadn’t accidentally texted someone’s grandmother, replied two hours later:“No worries, just glad I didn’t text a random.” Thus began a conversation — and a relationship — that would somehow include colds, bar mix-ups, FaceTimes until 4 a.m., and a cliff in Sorrento. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

On a chill Californian night             — October 1st, 2024 — a message was launched into the digital universe.

Shortly into their text exchange, Rosalin mentioned she wasn’t feeling well. Harout, quick to express his concern and interest, simply replied that he hoped she got better… so he could take her out the following weekend. “Bit selfish,” he admitted, “but in any case, are you free next Saturday?” She was.

Scene One: The Sick Girl & the Saturday Plan

October 12th, 2024. Harout picked Rosalin up at 8:30 p.m.(He thought he was running late. Little did he know, Rosalin considers time a gentle suggestion.) Dinner was off to a great start. At the bar while waiting for their table, Rosalin grabbed the only empty seat and started chatting with the man to her left… whom she assumed was Harout. Spoiler: It was not. Harout, watching from five feet away, laughed so hard he nearly had to excuse himself. The rest of the night? Smooth sailing. Live music. Cocktails at Employees Only. Sparks, banter, and the kind of chemistry usually reserved for Netflix originals.

Scene Two: The First Date (a.k.a. The Stranger at the Bar)

What followed were weeks of deep dives — into each other’s playlists, childhood stories, opinions on garlic, and FaceTimes that went until sunrise. Unbeknownst to Rosalin, Harout considers sleep sacred. But he stayed up. Night after night. No complaints, no visible exhaustion — just a man powered by curiosity and caffeine, wanting to talk to the girl who somehow made time stand still and fly by at the same time.

Scene Three: The Sleep-Deprived Stage

Three weeks in, it was Rosalin’s birthday. She had a dinner planned with her friends and family at AVRA. As fate (and poor scheduling) would have it, Harout had a completely unrelated work dinner… at the same restaurant. Same night. Same time. He was about to meet the entire squad — family, friends, unfiltered opinions and all. And he nailed it. “I’m crashing your next friends event,” he texted. “Are you ready? They’re going to roast you,” she warned. “That’s what I live for,” he said. The next morning, Harout sent a birthday message that made Rosalin pause: “Can’t tell you how happy I am that our lives crossed paths… You’re beautiful, intelligent, hardworking, funny — you really have it all.” Okay, swoon.

Scene Four: Birthday Crashers

Soon after, Rosalin met Harout’s nieces, Natasha and Giovanna. By the end of the evening, Giovanna (age: tiny, wisdom: ancient) ran to her mom and breathlessly announced: “Mommy! They were holding hands… with all TEN fingers! Like this!” Giggles. Approval granted.

Scene Five: The Niece Report

The next few months were filled with family gatherings, shared values, tennis matches, Costco runs, and—dare we say it—emotional maturity. Turns out, they agreed on everything that mattered. At Rosalin’s office holiday party, Harout not only helped set up (yes, with tools), but danced his way into her coworkers’ hearts. One employee famously said: “Rosalin… I can tell you are sooo in love with him.” Guilty.

Scene Six: Holidays, Dance Floors, and Mutual Respect

Valentine’s Day weekend: a beautiful dinner where both families came together. Toasts were made. Tears were shed. Laughter bounced around the room like confetti. At one point, the moms (and Angie, naturally) casually-but-not-casually pulled Rosalin aside and asked: “Soooo… when are you two getting married?” Right on cue, Eugenia, Rosalin’s sister, happened to walk outside and overheard the conversation. “What are you guys talking about?” she asked. When told about the marriage suggestion, she lit up and said, “That’s what I said,” with a big smile on her face. And just like that, there was a moment. No pressure. Just alignment. From every direction.

Scene Seven: Valentine’s Day & Gentle Pressure

Then came Sorrento. A cliffside. A sunset. A man on one knee. Rosalin said yes. Now, almost exactly one year since that first “heyy”, we’ll celebrate our wedding — on October 14th, 2025. Just two days after our anniversary. One full trip around the sun. Some call it fate. Others call it wild. We just call it perfect timing. We can’t wait to celebrate with our favorite people — and to start the rest of this very real, slightly sarcastic, ridiculously wonderful love story.
